The Legends and the Links Courses

The Legends opened in 1994 with a standard layout featuring 18 holes each very different, exciting and challenging. Carved out of bush covered volcanic rock in some areas and shaped over low-lying flood plains in others, accuracy is essential. The main challenge comes from the tree and bush lined fairways and large receptive greens, set in superbly natural backdrops. The Par 3, 17th is the most outstanding hole with spectacular views from the tee across the sparkling waters of the bay surrounding the island green perched on an outcrop of volcanic rock. The second of the Belle Mare Plage courses, The Links, opened 2002, designed by Rodney Wright and Peter Aliss. This course provides a different challenge to its sister, the Legends, with its links feel and wide-open spaces and rolling terrain. The Links lies further inland with plenty of water hazards and some extreme rough with well-guarded greens, although there are fewer trees to contend with.
