The Quinta Splendida Hotel is an extraordinary example of architectural beauty. The interior, modern yet elegant, is rich in antiques and paintings. The Manor House of Quinta Splendida was built in the 18th Century and it is said to have been the property of the Jesuits. It is in a beautiful site in the village of Canico, in large grounds with breathtaking views over the Atlantic Ocean. The centrepiece of the resort is the swimming pool with a sun terrace overlooking the Ocean. Also situated here is the pool snack bar, a large lounge with snooker and table tennis and the Health Centre with sauna, Turkish bath, Jacuzzi, massage and therapies. The hotel has three restaurants, Thai Lounge, offering Thai and Asian, La Perla offering gourmet cuisine and Galeria dos Artistas specialising in Italian and Portuguese.
