The Rosen Shingle Creek has history it takes its name from the creek which flows through the resort. Early explorers in the area were attracted to the location due its remarkable aesthetic beauty. The creek was later used for fishing and trapping logging trees. The trees were then made into shingles for early settler's homes and thus the name Rosen Shingle Creek.
