The Fairmont Carton House is just a 20-minute drive from Dublin Town Centre. This timeless Palladian mansion is set on 1,100 acres of sweeping Kildare parkland offers a wide range of dining options, the Morrison Restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy an eight-course tasting experience. There is also Kathleen's Kitchen, which is located within the old servant's kitchen and retains many of the original features. This unique dining spot is a fantastic place to have lunch or dinner in an authentic yet contemporary setting. There are also several bars on-site, perfect for unwinding after a round of golf with a refreshing drink. Head back to the glamourous 1920s for a mixed drink in the vintage-styled Cocktail Bar. Spa & Wellness at Carton House offers the perfect option for non-golfers or guests who are after a relaxing day off the course. The more active of you may want to make use of the excellent leisure centre, where swimming pools, a steam room, sauna, Jacuzzi, exercise classes and fitness programmes are also available, At Carton House Golf Club there are two fantastic courses - one of Dublin's best, the Montgomerie and the O'Meara, designed by their namesakes. Both courses are an excellent test of golf - incorporating all the natural land and hazards that the surrounding environment has to offer. Designed by the 1998 Open and Masters champion, the O'Meara Course is the shorter of the two courses at Carton House, the O’Meara course is a classic parkland with natural hazards at every turn, including the River Rye guarding holes 13, 14 and 15, with the 14th perfectly placed with the stunning Shell Cottage as a backdrop. This course and its partner course both create a true gem of a club in the Emerald isle. The Montgomerie Couse Designed by the 2010 Ryder Cup captain, Colin Montgomerie, this course is regarded as an ‘inland links’ course, optimising the contours of the surrounding landscape and with many features that resemble a true links course, including deep bunkers and steep fairways. This course also hosted the 2005 Irish Open, showing off its ability to be a championship course. It is also considered the superior of the two courses at Carton House Golf Club.
